IS THIS TOO SHOWY?
I've been in a weird place lately with shows. A lot of really neat opportunities have come up, but I'm kind of bummed b/c my baby project, Hot Mic! at GirlBar, is coming to a close. Why? B/c the bar is being sold, all within this week. It has been really fast, and depressing, especially after the response we got from people the first show. So, I think that I'm going to comtinue my campaign to move the show rather than end it. If you have ideas of places in the Chicago area, please let me know.

So - just a heads-up. I have about a billion shows this weekend - three of which I am "playing". Tonight, I already finished a show at the Playground with the Cleaning Ladies - sorry about the late notice, there. But...

Tomorrow, How To Eat Fried Worms opens - this is a kid show, part of the family matinee series. It's at 2pm, at Comedy Sportz Theatre. I play a nerdy-yet-lovable little sister, Emily. It's a super cute show - if you have some kids, bring 'em. It's like five bucks, I think. On a funny note, we have been searching for things to eat that are worm-esque for the show - and the author has a note in the back that suggests that you actually eat the fifteen worms every show. What the f? By the way, the author's name? Crackhead McWormison.

And, tomorrow night, I play at Comedy Sportz on the blue team - 8pm. Tickets are $17, the theatre is BYOB. You come! If you need a ticket, I may be able to work out comps for people I enjoy, but you gotta jump on the free train while it's still here.

Color me CORNFUSED!
This is the DOPEST! On Tuesday night, Comedy Sportz peops took a little outing to Rantoul, IL, about 2 hours south. We went to a place called Hardy's Reindeer Ranch, where they breed reindeer and have a huge CORN MAZE. Oh my god, the hijinks, with 25 comedians running around in the dark. (That sounds like the beginning of a joke - "How many comedians does it take to find their way out of a corn maze?", etc.) This place was the size of six football fields. And, to top it off, we took a hayride, even got a "Cowboy's Supper"! AWESOME.

So, what marks fall & Halloween for you? Midwestern fun like I had? Or something else?
