Porn-tastic!
What is with people at the library? I had been checking my e-mail there and doing various projects every day last week, and noticed quite a few loony tunes come by. Not like, in a mean way- like, normal people that were just slightly off and obnoxious. You have to wait in line to get e-mail, get on a list. So, I am standing behind this guy, who is dressed in a suit, and the time is 1:35. I am supposed to be on at 1:30, and every minute counts when you have a half hour. Anyway, I finally get the nerve up to be like, Dude, you're over, when I notice that he is looking at 5 porn sites! He has like, a million windows open, and they are all porn.
First, why porn?
Second, it's obvious this guy is coming from an interview or work, etc.
Third, you are at the LIBRARY.
Fourth, I'm standing here, looking at your porn(s).
So, I leaned over and said it was time to wrap up, and he was like - oh,oh,oh-whatthe?imeanjust give me asecondto -whatwasisupposed to be doinghere - oh, a job search... So then he proceeds to leave all porn open and (slyly?) open a browser with want ads, as if I was supposed to be fooled into thinking how responsible he was. I didn't take it, though - I just said I wouldn't wait any longer, and said that it was MY turn to look at free porn.
What is with people? There are so many screamers, slammers, stompers and gawkers there. I was using the typewriter (that's right, a TYPEWRITER, ladies and gentlemen) in a carrel to do some mail merge-y stuff, and there were two other typewriters to my right. I stand up to stretch, and a woman PLOWS in from the other room and slams her bag down on my TW. Keep in mind, all my stuff is there - a coat on the chair, a bag, a file folder - all right there. Oh, and also, me- I'm right there too. She looks so happy, like PHEW! I GOT IT! - and I'm like, hey- uh... I'm still here. Also, there's a typewriter right next to me. And she's like, frantic, sweating - like, she just got completely screwed over - like she finished a marathon and instead of getting gatorade someone punched her in the stomach. Anyway, she finally did SETTLE for another, and finished whatever she was doing, but then I turned around like an hour later, and she was hawk-eying me through a pane of clear glass, just waiting. I caught her looking, and she scurried away.
What?
I mean, what is this place?
Anyway, I found an even trippier place down the street from our apartment that lets you cafe' it up at a computer for 3 dollars an hour, while they smoke doobs and listen to Rage Against the Machine. They are nice, though. So, that's better.
