Right place, right time?

Well, actually, wrong time. If I was 12, in 6th grade, and just seen License to Drive, THAT would have been the right time. Or, if I had a few issues of Tiger Beat and Bop to be autographed. Nonetheless, what can compare to seeing Corey Feldman at a local costume shop last night?

Yes, ladies and gentlemen - as I browsed through Halloween garb yesterday at a shop called Beatnix in Boystown, a somewhat haggard yet friendly face stood next to me, looking through 70's apparel. I thought, "Why do I know this guy? He must've been in one of my comedy classes." Then, I went to the counter, and saw a bunch of workers run downstairs where this guy had gone. I said to the guy at the counter, "What's going on?", and he was like, "Someone's here." I was all, NOOoo way! And he was all, yes, it is who you think. Then at the same time, we muttered..."Corey Feldman!"

So, I took another gander. Doing seemingly okay. Alone. Glad to hear he is not like Corey Haim right now.

Just a bit more compiling, a little re-working, and some mulling over- and my first full-length stand-up act will be completed! I am shooting for completion next week. This is a big deal for me. Now, I just need a forum in which to present...

I am proud to say that project #1 of the laid-off business is about 1/3 done. So, I've only got three-thirds of 1,305 projects left.

Hello, Cleveland! Are you ready to ROCK?
As I was getting my ol' pink slip at AptZone, I decided to (at least) take on a few projects (other than finding a new JOB) so I wouldn't be down - and last night I got to start one of them after much anticipation. I began basic guitar at the Old Town School! This place is so awesome, because not only is everyone super-hippie-folk-y (i.e., "Wow, that chord wasn't RIGHT, but it was awesome, man!"), but it also gives you an hour and a half of learn-time, then a half hour jam with all levels of guitar! So, you feel like you are rocking out on your first day, even if you do only know two chords (see: D and A7). Folk-y good-ness!

Bro Nick- you have inspired me! :)

Have you ever had a gut feeling and not followed it?

Today, I saw this guy walk from a furniture store here in Lakeview, and he was struggling carrying this two piece lounge-y type chair and automon. He kept putting it down, giving his hands a rest, then picking it up for another half block. I was sitting inside a coffee shop at the time, with my junk splayed all over the table. Despite my stuff being everywhere, I had this urge to go help this poor guy. I even walked outside, but I just didn't do it. Why didn't I go? I don't know. I definitely feel I should've . No big deal, right? But, it has bugged me all day.

As if one wasn't bad enough, here comes another.

Chrissy Swartz, wherever you are- this one is for you.

I am DYING to get my paws on a pumpkin!

They are so expensive here. All I have so far are two little gourds. Gourds= no seeds, man! You feel me?

$2.38 sure can get you...a lot?Slumber Party, Old School Style.

That's what last night was. Man, it has been a long time since I went over to a friend's house, with parents home and offering anything you could possibly imagine. This is the glory of suburbia, people. My pal Claudia moved up here and lives in a suburb (about an hour and a half away- big suburbs here) of Chicago. So, we finally made the trek out, and it was pretty much like the good ol' days of yore - hangin', loungin', watchin' TV, eatin' your brains out - but not only that, they built a fire (!) in a little contained grill-like instrument for us to all chat-it-up around. Fireside chats! That is DOPE. Only diff is beer was involved this time - well, at least beer they KNEW we were drinking.* Thanks to the Myers for putting us up!

(*Reminds me of a funny story. When my friends and I were in high school, we thought it would be brilliant to have a code word for when there would be drinking readily available at a place we were going. Although many people did this somehow, our word of choice for alcohol was "Congress". So, whenever we were going to a party, we would be like, "Hey- is congress in session today?" -to which the other would reply a positive "Yes, congress is SO in session" or the negative "Congress is closed", or something totally inaccurate like that. We thought we were SO brilliant at the time. Our parents were probably like, "Dude, don't get the Congress 20/20. Go with Boone's Farm Congress. Much gentler on the stomachs."
