*sigh* So, it is my last day at work. I have some options now, but no idea which way to go. I will miss ol' ApartmentZone, though.

I'm so psyched that my fam is coming to town this weekend! My Mom, Sis-in-law MJ, brother Vince, and niece Sophia are all coming, Sat-Monday. AWESOME! It is the first visit to Chicago to see li'l ol' me. :)
Has anyone seen the Britney Spears new video, "I'm a Slave 4 U"? Whoa.
Let me just say a few things with this disclaimer: I am not a worried parent of an eleven year old, or a member of the Christian right.
I can understand when you hit 19 or 20, when most kids are heading off to college or the like, and you want to be seem as an adult. A sexual being, even. But, man- slow it down, Britney! Put a few clothes on, and don't simulate an orgy in your video to prove that you are (barely) legal. Although it is a statement, it isn't very subtle, and I think it makes her look even younger. Besides, we all know she hasn't hit it with Justin Timberlake yet.
I do like her, though. And, I am glad she's going a little less Britney, and a little more Madonna. Someone has to carry the torch.
Home sick wit' the flu. Not the best, but not the worst. I tried to make it a productive day, and Amy and I painted our hallway brick red. Unintentionally, we realized that we now have Watterson Eagles colors all over our apartment- maroon in the hall, butter-gold in the bedroom. Yipes.

I just got bored here at work, and looked myself up on Google.com. I have some listings!
I wonder how many of these scams there are... I'm sure a few of you have gotten these e-mails - one about Nostradamus predicting the WTC attack:
"In the City of God there will be a great thunder,
Two brothers torn apart by Chaos,
while the fortress endures,
the great leader will succumb,
The third big war will begin when the big city is burning"
Nostradamus 1654
Pretty darn scary if you think about the brothers being the WTC towers- but, Nostradamus was dead by 1556, nearly a hundred years before this "quote". Watch out for hoaxes on the WTC- I don't know what kind of bastards you'd have to be to make one up - but believe me you, they are out there.
Look at these fakes:
Unlucky Tourist on Tower
Falling Firefighter
Satellite Photo
Cell phone Picture
True (at least some) stuff:
Wingdings
Devil's Face in Smoke/simulacra
Bush statement
Starbucks gluttony
(Thanks to Snopes.com for nearly all of these finds.)
Tara's job search continues:
I got contacted by this organization, emodels.com, today. It seems kind of cool- I would be a talent scout for models and actor-models. I definitely could familiarize myself with the process of getting/being an agent, but I don't like the idea of controlling all these poor models fates. Downfall: this agency wanted me to come in all day tomorrow for a full day, but I am working here until Friday. Also, the office is by the airport, O'Hare- that is about 45 mins from me.

Aah, the smell of coffee beans permeating my clothing and skin... not able to wash it off, though I may shower 4 times.
I might work at Intelligentsia again. Don't get me wrong- I love it, and it was a great coffee shop to work at. I just don't want to work at a coffee shop again. But, I gotz ta pay da' billz. It may just be temp. Hey, it may not even be. We'll see.

You can get all sorts of stuff on e-bay. Like, an ass kickin'.
(Thanks go to Howie for this link.)
Saw the Second City mainstage show. It was good! I was interested in how the Friday night crowd would take it, since most of the people seeing the show probably haven't seen too much comedy since the Sept 11th attack. It is a weird time we are living in- there is such a desperate need to laugh and relax, but a feeling of guilt that accompanies it when it is finally delivered. From the class I was attending with Mick, I knew that quite a bit of stuff had been rearranged or deleted in the show, trying to make it more sensitive to the needs of the crowds, currently. I thought, for the most part, that was well done. Has anyone else seen this show?
