Here's a slice of life for ya: Funny Women Festival didn't pick me this year. I feel like I really lost out. An excerpt from my rejection letter:

"I think that you have great instincts. I just think you need to get more experience in front of different audiences
and get more confidenceas a stand up. You are confident, but I think that the more confident you become, the
more polished you become. Plus Tara, there were so many people who sent in their materials and we had to balance
the amnt of stand ups, solo performers, improv etc. and there wasn't a lot of time to fill as well...I do think you are on your way."

So, at least it was nice. It really stinks, I mean, the festival is fun (I did it last year as a sketch performer)- there's a really supportive community there dying to see strong women perform. But, ah well. I am curious to see who they did pick (it hasn't been released yet).

But, then again, you win some. I am doing an emcee show this weekend for GayCo's Fruit Salad Sundays, and I got a headlining gig at Girlbar! My own gig, just me, one half hour of me. This will be my third paid stand-up show.

But, um, it's raining...(?)

No, seriously - I was going to walk-it-up today, but it is pouring outside - flood warning here in Cook County, IL. But, I really need to get out there - only a week and a half until the Avon Breast Cancer Three Day! Holy F! 60 miles of pain awaits. :)
